Disability Accommodations
Auxiliary aids and services including, for example, qualified interpreters and/or listening devices, to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, and to other individuals as necessary to ensure effective communication or an equal opportunity to participate fully in the benefits, activities, programs and services will be provided by MBARD in a timely manner and in such a way as to protect the privacy and independence of the individual.
Upon request, documents in appropriate alternative formats will be made available to assist persons with a disability (Govt. Code Section 54954.2(a)). To request an accommodation or alternative format for meetings, events, or printed materials, please call (831) 647-9411. Any accommodations must be requested as soon as practicable. Requests will be accommodated unless providing the accommodation would result in a fundamental alteration or undue burden to the organization.
Website Accessibility
The Monterey Bay Air Resources District is committed to making our website as accessible as possible for all users, including those with disabilities. Our website is hosted by Streamline and was designed to meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and will continue to be updated as web accessibility laws evolve. The website has strict controls on the way content is formatted by only allowing specific colors, layouts, and other options to ensure that all users can access the content, even if they are visually impaired. Streamline’s software automatically ensures our HTML strictly conforms to WC3 HTML5 standards. This includes automatically adding starter alternative (alt) text to images when images are uploaded.

Language Assistance
MBARD recognizes that to effectively reach and engage the diverse population of the region, we must strive to provide residents with meaningful access to services and with materials in languages other than English. MBARD currently has a number of practices in place for providing services and materials in Spanish, to both the general public and the industry-specific populations that utilize its varied services, such as public notices, press releases, compliance assistance, and grant programs.
Our website is equipped with Google translate to support non-English users.
Please call with questions, we have staff available who speak Spanish.
